Realities of ProBlogging everyday

Tuesday, June 9, 2009 @ 5:25 pm by ProBlogit.com

I have not neglected this blog. I was on vacation for three weeks, then took another week break and just read some books that I have already read before. I will not review the books that I have just read but I suggest that you read them too, The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway, The Greatest Success in the World and The Greatest Miracle in the World by Og Mandino, and The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. They are indeed great reads. I am about to read The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Anyway, while on vacation and upon returning from vacation, I realized a few things about problogging.

Problogging everyday is fun but stressful. It is stressful on my part as this is not the only blog that I maintain. I blog whenever I like with my other blogs but concerning this blog, I made it a point to blog everyday until I changed my mind about blogging on Saturdays and Sundays. Blogging is just a hobby but problogging became a work for me. Problogging is an adventure and an experiment. As it is an experiment, I realized that I need to be flexible especially about those things that could drain me.

Problogging everyday is out of the question when on vacation. When I am on vacation, although I bring a laptop, I rarely open my laptop and my mailbox. I see to it that I am on real vacation, not to be interrupted by emails and blogs. I check my emails once in a while but not too often. I only check social networks if I need to contact some people, that is if I do not have their telephone numbers. I realized that I could not really blog and even surf the net when I am on vacation. I tried but vacation is vacation. That is why it is called vacation because we do really need to take a break from work.

Problogging everyday and doing it alone is not yet advisable at this stage. As I am not blogging if I am on vacation, this blog looked like it was neglected. I could have written the articles ahead of time and scheduled its publication but I was not able to prepare at least 15 articles before I went on vacation. As this blog is quite very new and I really have not promoted it yet, I still do not have a community to ask to write as guest bloggers on my blog. I realized that I have to change some things and that is with regard to daily blogging.

With that, things will change again around here. I will not be problogging everyday. I do not want to get drained and burned out by problogging everyday. I am still committed to problogging but I will not enforce myself to write on this blog everyday. I will probably write two times a week but it also depends on the information that I have and if I have something to share with you. I might once in a while blog even on Saturdays and Sundays but it will not be an enforced one.

Making money online by problogging is definitely good but money is just a perk in one’s life. I like having an extra income but money is not my life and is not the center of my existence. I am just seeing to it that problogging is going to be an enjoyable venture and not a strenuous adventure.
