FTP is the short term for File Transfer Protocol which is a standard network protocol being used to copy or transfer data, download or upload files from a computer to a server or to a web host server and vice-versa via the Internet.
For security reasons, it is recommended to change your FTP password once in a while no matter how reputable your web hosting provider is.
I already wrote a detailed explanation at Sehdi.com on how to install WordPress. I again used DreamHost in this example as I especially used the “One-Click Installs” feature of DreamHost. This is a follow up blog entry to the blog entry on how to set up a Website.
Setting the nameservers or changing the nameservers is required when you set up a Website. I already wrote about this topic, How to Set Nameservers, How to Change Nameservers, with all the details and illustrations at Sehdi.com.
As usual, I again used GoDaddy and DreamHost in this example. I am comfortable using GoDaddy and DreamHost. I like the features of GoDaddy as a domain registrar and DreamHost as a web hosting provider.

Just like in my previous posts, I will use DreamHost on how to set up a Website in this example as I am comfortable using DreamHost being its customer for three (3) years now. I also like the features that DreamHost offers.
Getting a web host is simply choosing a web host and signing up for a web hosting account with a web hosting provider. Choosing a web host may not be as easy as you think because you need to consider a lot of things that you need for a Website. But signing up for a web hosting account is as simple as registering a domain name.
You just follow the instructions just like when you register a domain name. After a few minutes, after signing up for a web hosting account, you can already set up a Website.
