Making money online with advertising and affiliate programs is not at all simple. It is just not easy making money online no matter what other people say on their blogs. I joined several advertising and affiliate programs for the past few years and for the past few months but I still have to see if I can really make money from them.

Making money online needs a lot of effort, discipline, patience and perseverance. It needs good planning and goal setting. It is not just enough to sit in front of your computer and write content for your blog. Content is king but no matter how many articles you have written, you will not get a lot of traffic if you are not promoting your blogs.

Even if you get a lot of traffic but if your visitors do not click on the ads, links or banners, then you will definitely not earn. But even if I have not earn from some of those advertising and affiliate programs, I did not regret joining them. I will give it a few more months and see if I have to continue having those ads, links, and banners on my blogs.

Google AdSense

Make Money Online with Google Adsense. Google AdSense is a free advertising program that allows web publishers like bloggers and probloggers to display ads on their blogs and then earn from valid clicks and impressions on those ads.

Make Money Online with Text Link Ads. Text Link Ads is a kind of text based ads widely known as Site-wide Ads or Site-wide Links. It is not a pay per click advertising program so if you join this advertising program, you will earn immediately the moment an advertiser purchases a link from your site.

inLinks

Make Money Online with inLinks. InLinks is not a contextual advertising program nor site-wide links ad program but a kind of in-content ad program. InLinks is the in-content advertising program counterpart of Text Link Ads.

Infolinks is a provider of In-Text advertising that enables online content publishers to benefit from premium In-Text ads without any risk while keeping most of the advertising revenue. In-Text advertising is a method of online advertising that inserts text link advertisements within the content of a website.

GoDaddy

GoDaddy is a domain registrar and a web host. Go Daddy offers two ways of becoming an affiliate. You can either join the Go Daddy Affiliate Program, or the Commission Junction affiliate network. You can earn money from GoDaddy by referring your site visitor to become GoDaddy customer. A visitor has 45 days to complete their purchase for you to receive commission. If the visitor clicks on another affiliate or tracking link during this time, the new link will replace yours.

DreamHost

DreamHost is a web hosting company and offers an Affiliate Program. You can earn money from DreamHost if you refer a customer. You can choose to receive substantial one-time credits for each of your referrals, or recurring credits for every payment that your referrals ever make to DreamHost! As of this writing, for one time payment, you will earn $97 for each new customer that you send to Dreamhost, and each new customer that they send to Dreamhost will have you earn additional $5 more. For recurring payment, you will earn 10% of every payment that your referrals ever make and you will earn 5% of every payment that their referrals make for as long as they remain customers!

Bluehost

Bluehost is another web hosting company which also offers an Affiliate Program. You can earn money from Bluehost if you refer a customer to sign-up with Bluehost. As of this writing, you will receive from Bluehost $65.00 per referral.

Lunarpages

Lunarpages is another web hosting which also offers Affiliate Program just like Bluehost and DreamHost. The Lunarpages Affiliate Program works as a referral service. As of this writing, Lunarpages will reward you with $65 if you make a referral to its hosting plans!

So far, those are the affiliate and advertising programs that I have joined and explored. I will be exploring more affiliate and advertising programs in the next few months. There are still a lot out there that I have not tested yet. I might even try writing sponsored posts just to see how it works. I have to find out if it is really worth it writing sponsored posts.

If you plan to become an affiliate, make a plan and set your goals. Have a lot of patience, discipline, patience and perseverance. It is not going to make you rich overnight but it will pay off later on if you work for it. Work smartly to achieve your goals.

It has been several months since I signed up with Amazon Associates affiliate program in order to make money online advertising Amazon products. You can earn up to 15 percent in referrals by advertising Amazon products.

What is the Amazon Associates program?

Let me quote Amazon: “Amazon Associates is one of the first online affiliate marketing programs and was launched in 1996. The Amazon Associates program has a more than 12 year track record of developing solutions to help website owners, Web developers, and Amazon sellers make money by advertising millions of new and used products from Amazon.com and Endless.com. When website owners and bloggers who are Associates create links and customers click through those links and buy products from Amazon.com or Endless.com, they earn referral fees.”

I have yet to fully explore this affiliate program. As of now, I have not even earned from this affiliate program. It seems easy to use but you really have work hard on this affiliate program for you to be able to earn because you can only earn if your visitors make a purchase using your referral link.

The concept of the Amazon Associates affiliate program is not the same with Pay-Per-Click advertising program. You may have 100 clicks but you would not even earn from those clicks unless your visitors make a purchase from the links you created.

To create a link and to add content to your site, you can customize the Links and Banners, aStore and Widgets that you can browse and select at the Amazon Associates site once you signed up or joined the Amazon Associates program. Signing up with Amazon Associates affiliate program is free.

I highly recommend that after you signed up with Amazon Associates, access the Associates Central, and join the Discussion Boards for tips on how to effectively earn from advertising Amazon products.

Now that you have a Twitter account, you need to have followers to be able to get advertisers to get you to promote their messages. This is where you are going to make money online with Twitter and Ad.ly Ads.

How to get more Twitter followers?

There are several ways to get more followers.

One way is, search Twitter and see who are into your niche or topic and follow them.

It is either they will follow you back or not follow you at all.

But it is not only about following them, you need to write messages too.

Write at least several messages everyday related to your niche or topic.

In my case, I do not write messages everyday but I am sure that it is one way to get followers based on my observation in Twitter.

Another way is, write messages related to “Make Money Online with Twitter“.

For example, if you read my last blog entry, Make Money Online with Twitter and Twitter messages on November 19, 2009, you will read there that within a day even without following anyone in Twitter, I was able to get more than 70 followers.

Before November 19, 2009, I only had less than 30 followers. Just because I mentioned “Make Money Online with Twitter”, I reached 100 followers within 7 hours.

The problem is, I was not able to maintain my followers as it is not really my habit to use Twitter everyday.

But if you are into Twitter and you would like to make money online with Twitter, try it out.

You will never know what could happen after you sign up with Twitter and Ad.ly.

But remember:

Write messages everyday related to your niche or topic.

Write something related to “Make Mone Online” or “Make Money Online with Twitter”.

Follow those who followed you. If they unfollow you, unfollow them too, unless you like to really follow them.

But bear in mind not to follow the spammers though. You might get a big problem there.

Follow those twitterers who are related to your niche or topic.

If those twitterers follow you, then good. If they do not follow you, you have the option to unfollow them.

Now, I am experimenting and exploring the possibility of making money online with Twitter aside from problogging. So I tweeted about it at my problogit Twitter account. I was really surprised because just by simply using the three keywords MAKE MONEY ONLINE, it got me a lot of followers.

Then I followed it with several tweets regarding my reaction to what happened and also tweeted that I got 12 followers in 17 minutes. It did not stop there. I thought that they followed me today but then they will also be gone tomorrow. I even tweeted that as well. And yet, my followers kept increasing. Not only that, even my personal Twitter account is getting a lot of followers too.

Yes, I joined Ad.ly yesterday despite not being a heavy Twitter user. But I will not write any reviews yet as I am new to this medium of making money online with Twitter. I do not have a lot of followers but I joined anyway.

Tweeting about it actually resulted to something I did not expect. I did not want to actually tweet about it because I am so new into this MAKE MONEY ONLINE with Twitter thing, but I changed my mind. Changing my mind was indeed a good decision.

I did not follow my followers yet. I am not even sure if they will keep following me if I will not follow them yet. I also tweeted about it that I do not follow everyone who follows me. Let us take a look at another advertising program to make money online aside from Google AdSense. One of the proven advertising programs where you can make money online is through Text Link Ads. It has a different program from Google AdSense but I can attest to it that it really works.

Google AdSense is a free advertising program that allows web publishers like bloggers and probloggers to display ads on their blogs and then earn from valid clicks and impressions on those ads.

You as the publisher may not click on your ads or encourage anyone to click on your ads. If Google sees that you click on your ads, as they have ways to monitor it, one is through your IP address, it will be considered invalid clicks and impressions. For bloggers and probloggers, the first four features namely AdSense for content, AdSense for search, AdSense for mobile content, and AdSense for feeds are the useful ones to make money online. AdSense for domains can only be applicable to the unused domain names, not to blogs. AdSense for video and AdSense for games are still in limited beta, so you need to wait until it will be opened to everyone.
